A Glimpse of the Past
Our policy at Kenrie is to not look back, but to constantly look toward tomorrow. Such a policy has produced the outstanding history of accomplishments contained in this glimpse of the past.
- 1928 The corporation was founded at a location on the east side of Detroit and later named Micromatic Hone Corporation.
- 1929 - 1963 Micromatic Hone continued to grow to a multimillion dollar sales volume during this time period.
- 1963 - 1971 Micromatic Hone Corporation became part of the Ex-Cell-O Corporation and was later called Micromatic Operations.
- 1971 - 2000 In 1971, Micromatic relocated to a new building located in Holland Michigan. In 2000, Micromatic Operations ceased the manufacture of honing machines.
- 2000 - 2004 Micromatic Operations was made a division of Kautex -- Textron. It was decided in 2004 to close the Micromatic Operations facility.
- 2005 Ken Vennesland purchased and acquired the exclusive rights to Micromatic Honing Equipment from Kautex Textron. This acquisition makes it possible for Kenrie to continue providing quality equipment, experience and expertise in the honing and diamond ream marketplace.
Even with this abbreviated listing of steady growth, Kenrie will continue to be recognized in the machining segment of the Metalworking Industry. With this much experience and knowledge coupled with our look-toward-tomorrow policy, Kenrie stands ready to solve present and future honing, inspection, gauging and assembly problems.
